Book Review #2 : A Thousand Splendid Suns

A Thousand Splendid Suns.
Author :Khaled Hosseini

 My first read in kindle.

This book travels with two ladies Mariam &  Laila. Mariam being the lady who has no fortune of getting a better life apart from the early childhood days with her father. Laila, who could have had the loved life but the universe had other plans on the contrary. How these ladies meet in life,  how they travel together, this takes the rest story.

More details are provided about Afghanistan and the wars. How soviets and talibans take their turns one after the other and how the life of the people are miserable. How they wanted their place back without the rockets, gun shot sounds and everything to normal. As the author himself is a native of Kajbul and got settled in USA, he had provided the minute details of the period and place.

Book Review #1 : The Rise Of Sivagami

The Rise Of Sivagami
Author : Anand Neelakantan

Started reading it just for the name. Yet felt so gripped towards reading it. Mind was tracing towards each reading sessions. Dreams were full of magishmathi, kattappa and sivagami. So much beautiful details in each and every minute things.

The book is mostly an introduction to the characters and how strong they are. How a girl from orphanage who was already thrown out of her own house because of her dad being sealed and hanged as traitor by the government is raised to power and authority is the baseline. With  sivagami, kattappa, kamakshi all being in their teenage the story takes how hard earned life they have. As we could relate to the movie, this is so good to traverse reading. Some citizens of magishmathi being good they try to change the corrupted land, some just to earn make the corrupted land more poisonous.(so much to relate with the current political satire).
Overall a good read. All thanks to the author.

Nostalgia !!!! Jacobinte Swargaraajyam

As the name of the movie, we do have our very own kingdoms. Started watching the movie just for Nivin Pauly but finally fell for the storyline. Not everyone may love the movie but i loved it. May be just because we had a similar situation to face after appa's demise. My mom stayed so strong in facing the situation completely. I was 8 and my lil bro was 3 when appa died in an accident. We were in a ship of debt that was almost to sink. Yeah then this strong lady had to manage all this with the help of my grandpa and raise me and my bro. I still remember me and my bro watching the buyers take the cars from us. The scene where Nivin sells his benz and watches as the buyer takes it,reminds and relates so much. We didnt have the money but the confidence to get all that we had in life and my-strong-lady stood with us. We 3 together fought back all the odds to achieve something and still fighting. A single thought of her after appa's death would have made us get into photo frames with poomalai on it but still she fought. She made her very own swargaraajyam... usha's kingdom of heaven.
